Steps for approval of research at Missouri S&T with human subjects:

1. Use this chart to determine the appropriate category for your proposed research.
2. All key personnel involved in the conducting of the research should complete Human Subjects Training, and file their completion form with the IRB office.
3. Complete Missouri S&T IRB form and submit to IRB office electronically (irb@mst.edu) with attachments (if appropriate).

***You should anticipate and allow for a reasonable amount of time (2 weeks) for your application to be reviewed, even if it is for an exempt or expedited application.***
